The goal of this design was to achieve a naturalistic look not only in the style lines of the garments, but also in aging and distressing, combined with a level of water and dirt that would feel right to the audience mere inches away. The majority of costumes were constructed from linen and wool fabrics using true period patterns. I then used a variety of dyeing, painting, and physical break-down techniques to achieve the desired effects.
